Overview
Acoustic panels absorb sound energy, shortening reverberation time and reducing noise build-up in large spaces such as factories, canteens and halls. Absorption is measured to ISO 354 and classified to ISO 11654 (Class A to E).
Unlike sound insulation (stopping sound through walls), absorption treats sound inside the room. In noisy plants it is combined with perforated liner sheets under the roof, machine enclosures and insulated partitions.
Uses
- 01Acoustic ceilings for offices and canteens
- 02Perforated liners under factory roofs
- 03Halls and meeting rooms
- 04Plant and compressor rooms
Selection and acceptance checks
- Check absorption data and class (αw, Class)
- Check moisture and fire performance of the panel
- Install with the plenum depth used in the tests
