Overview
Every penetration through a fire wall or floor is a weak point where fire and smoke can spread. A firestop system restores the fire rating of the separating element at that penetration.
The system is chosen by penetrant (plastic pipe, steel pipe, cable bundle, duct), opening size and substrate, following the tested detail. Labelling each location helps inspection and maintenance.
Uses
- 01Plastic and steel pipe penetrations through floors
- 02Cable tray and cable bundle penetrations through walls
- 03Head-of-wall and curtain wall joints
- 04Service shafts in towers and data centres
Selection and acceptance checks
- Choose the tested detail for the exact penetrant and substrate
- Check sealing depth and correct collar size
- Label and record every location
