Overview
Thin-film intumescents keep the architectural look of steel, suiting exposed frames in lobbies, factories and towers. The thickness depends on the required fire resistance, the member’s section factor and the critical temperature.
Thickness must come from tables assessed to a test standard (EN 13381-8, BS 476, UL 263) for that exact product. In Vietnam, products and records must meet QCVN 06:2022/BXD and fire inspection and acceptance requirements.
Uses
- 01Steel columns and beams in factories and warehouses
- 02Exposed steel in lobbies and towers
- 03Support steel in data centres and plants
- 04Upgrades to meet fire requirements
Selection and acceptance checks
- Take thicknesses from the product tables for each section
- Measure DFT on every member and record it
- Check compatible primer and topcoat
