Overview
Charged powder clings to earthed parts and is then melted and cured in an oven. No solvents are used, so VOC emissions are low; films are even, well bonded and available in many colours and glosses.
Steel needs pre-treatment (degreasing, phosphating or galvanizing) to prevent corrosion under the coating. Architectural aluminium usually follows quality schemes such as Qualicoat or AAMA for outdoor colour retention.
