Overview
The detector type follows the environment: smoke detectors for offices and dry storage, heat detectors for kitchens and dusty or steamy areas, beam detectors for factories and high-ceiling stores. Aspirating smoke detection gives very early warning for data centres and cleanrooms.
Spacing and positions follow TCVN 5738:2021 or the investor’s standard, allowing for ceiling height, beams and air-conditioning airflow.
Uses
- 01Offices and dry storage
- 02High-ceiling factories (beam detectors)
- 03Data centres and cleanrooms (aspirating)
- 04Kitchens and hot, steamy areas (heat detectors)
Selection and acceptance checks
- Choose the detector type for each area
- Check spacing and positions relative to beams and diffusers
- Smoke- and heat-test every detector at acceptance
