Overview
The mineral wool core is laid with fibres perpendicular to the skins for stiffness and bonded to two steel skins. The core does not burn, so the panel can achieve fire resistance for partitions when tested as a system.
It is heavier than PU/PIR and insulates less at the same thickness, but it is the preferred choice for fire walls, generator rooms, electrical rooms and other areas required by QCVN 06:2022/BXD.
Uses
- 01Fire walls inside factories
- 02Electrical rooms, generator rooms and data centres
- 03Envelope of chemical plants
- 04Protected escape corridors
Selection and acceptance checks
- Check fire resistance (EI) in the system test report
- Check core density and thickness
- Check that joints and fixings match the tested system
