Overview
Deluge systems use open nozzles, so the whole zone is sprayed at once when the deluge valve opens on a detection signal. Foam systems mix concentrate with water to blanket burning liquids and cut off oxygen.
Systems are designed for a specific hazard: fuel tanks, loading bays, power transformers, chemical stores. The foam concentrate must suit the fuel and environmental requirements.
Uses

Selection and acceptance checks
- Check deluge valves, foam tanks and proportioning
- Full or zone discharge test at acceptance
- Test foam concentrate periodically as the maker advises
