Overview
Mechanical ventilation removes heat, moisture and pollutants from factories and brings fresh air to workers. Smoke exhaust fans must withstand high temperatures for a set time (for example 300°C for 2 hours to EN 12101-3) and have priority power supplies.
Airflow follows air-change rates or heat-load calculations; efficient fans with VFDs save energy. Smoke exhaust and stair pressurisation fans are part of the fire safety system and need approval and acceptance.
Uses
- 01Factory and warehouse ventilation
- 02Smoke extraction for basements and corridors
- 03Stair pressurisation
- 04Kitchen and chemical area extraction
Selection and acceptance checks
- Check fan curves and duty point
- Check temperature certification of smoke exhaust fans
- Measure airflow and pressurisation at acceptance
Reference standards
- AMCA 210
- ISO 5801
- EN 12101-3
For reference only. The standards for each project follow its design documents, current Vietnamese codes and the investor’s requirements.
