Overview
Fire curtains replace doors or walls at large openings such as conveyor passages, atria and compartment links. They descend by gravity or motor on a signal from the fire alarm system and have backup power.
There are two families: smoke curtains (smoke control, EN 12101-1) and fire curtains (fire resistance E or EI, EN 1634-1). Using a curtain instead of a fire wall needs fire authority approval.
