Overview
uPVC pressure pipe is classified by nominal pressure (PN) or SDR series; buried drainage pipe by ring stiffness. Joints are solvent-cemented or, for large diameters, rubber-ring sealed.
uPVC cannot take high temperatures and becomes brittle under impact and cold; outdoors it needs UV protection. It is not used for hot water or compressed air.
Uses
- 01Rainwater and soil drainage inside buildings
- 02Cold water supply and irrigation
- 03Electrical and cable conduits
- 04Buried drainage in industrial parks
Selection and acceptance checks
- Check pressure class (PN) or ring stiffness against design
- Use the right solvent cement and curing time before testing
- Pressure- or leak-test before backfilling
