Overview
Fibre cement does not rot, resists termites and stays stable when wet, so it suits external walls, toilets and light floors on steel framing. Typical thicknesses run from 4 mm for ceilings to 20 mm for floors.
Modern boards use cellulose or synthetic fibres with no asbestos. Orders should ask for an asbestos-free declaration and classification to EN 12467.
