Overview
PC cement is mainly clinker and gypsum; PCB adds mineral additions such as slag, fly ash or limestone. PCB is common for masonry, plastering and ordinary concrete; PC is used for high-strength concrete or special requirements.
Marine works and footings in acid-sulphate or sulphate soils need sulphate-resisting cement or a suitable mix design. Cement must be stored dry, used in lot order and checked for shelf life.
